About us

The Money Advice Liaison Group of the United Kingdom (known as MALG) was formed as a non-policy making, not-for-profit unincorporated association in 1987 by a small group of visionaries drawn from the money advice and lending sectors.

MALG is a Discussion Forum. Since its inception, MALG membership has grown to include representatives from a wide range of voluntary agencies, private organisations and public sector bodies, all of whom have an interest in personal credit and debt. MALG holds a prestigious annual conference and attendance is recommended to creditors, debt collection agencies, debt advisers, regulators and everyone working within the consumer credit and debt industry.

From time to time, MALG working parties look at specific issues related to credit and debt and has been particularly active in the field of mental health and debt.
