MALG (Scotland)
The aims of the MALG (Scotland) are consistent with the objectives of the Money Advice
Liaison Group, which are to improve working relationships between creditors, their
ancillary services and advisers by:
- Facilitating and promoting a non-policy making discussion forum
- Promoting better communication, best practice, understanding and professionalism
on the part of individuals and organisations concerned with consumer credit and personal
debt, money/debt advice, debt collection and related ancillary matters
- Organising and administering regular meetings and workshops of the forum and the
provision of information to members
- Assisting with the resolution of differences that occur from time to time, through
networking, whether they are individual cases experienced by either creditors or
advisers, or more general differences of opinions.
MALG (Scotland) meets regularly in Glasgow and draws members from the credit and
debt collecting sectors, utility companies, government bodies and the advice sector.
Some of the topics that MALG (Scotland) has addressed during the last twelve months
include:
- Update on the Debt Managers Standards Association (DEMSA)
